If you are looking to find a way to wash backpack plushie, you have come to the right place.
Backpack plushies are loved by children and are easy to handle. All kids have one such backpack plushie they can always carry wherever they go.
But as a parent, you forget that the more it is exposed to the outside, the more germs it carries with it. So it needs to be deep cleaned often.
Kids are innocent, they don’t understand the importance of cleaning so they can take their favorite things everywhere, but as a responsible parent, you must check on everything. One such thing is cleaning all their stuff, from toys to backpacks.
In today’s world, a little dirt can also cause a big health issue. That’s why it is important to look after your kids and their stuff as well.
Sometimes a dirty plushie can make your kids sick, or they suffer from dirt allergies, as these are the most common health issues faced by children.
So being a parent, you need to know how you can clean your kid’s backpack plushies so they do not face any kind of illness.
Here are some cleaning tips that can help you clean backpack plushies whenever they get dirty. From a speck of small dirt to heavy, I share all kinds of cleaning ideas.
Backpack plushies are easy to wash and maintain. If there is any label on the backpack, you should follow the instructions. Otherwise, you should hand-wash it.
The first thing you need to remember when getting a backpack plushie is to maintain that properly. Before cleaning the backpack, you need to know all about that.
For instance, its material, how it needs to wash everything so you can choose the right way to clean it. Size, age, material, and the amount of dirt on the backpack plushie are all important measures that you need to think about before choosing one of the washing methods.
Spot clean
Spot washing or surface washing is one of the easiest ways of washing a backpack plushie. To do the spot wash, you need to mix a small amount of detergent and water in a bowl.
Then dip a micro-fiber cloth in that soap mixture for the best result and dab it onto the dirty areas of your backpack until the plushie is nicely clean. You can also lightly scrub the area, it does not harm the plushies.
If you do not have a micro fiber cloth, then don’t worry; you can use your kid’s toothbrush, as it has soft bristles that lightly clean the affected area.
Wash with Hand
Another popular way to clean your backpack plush is to clean it by hand. If you think the washing machine may damage your plushie backpack, then you can definitely go for this way of washing.
For hand cleaning, you need detergent or soap and water. When washing by hand, you need to note that you should not use hot water but rather use warm or cold water instead. And for soap or detergent, use non-bleach and unscented detergent for the best result.
Some people use dish soap for washing, but I tell you dish soap may cause color deterioration and damage the material forever.
Machine Wash
If your backpack has a label that says you can machine wash it, then you can definitely go for it. Machine washing is easy and doesn’t consume your time. So for machine washing, all you need is a washing machine, a pillowcase, and a mesh washer bag.
First, you need to put your backpack plushie into the washer bag; if you do not have a washer bag, then use the pillow cover. After placing the backpack into the pillowcase, tie or seal the top; this way the backpack does not get too rattled around.
Please make sure to set the washing machine to a delicate setting with cold or warm water. Use a mild detergent for washing, and to lessen the rattling, you can put on some other clothes to act as cushioning the backpack. Then turn the washing machine; once it’s over, don’t put it in the dryer, or else it may distort.
Baking soda
One more easy process to clean your backpack plushie is by using baking soda. Baking soda is no doubt a useful home remedy for cleaning such things. There is no such hustle for cleaning.
Unlike the other ways, you do not need to get wet, as this process does not use water to clean the stuff. But this process does not work for heavy dirt. You use this way if the backpack has a small amount of dirt.
So first you need to place your backpack plushie in a garbage bag or use a big-size polythene bag. Add 1 cup of baking soda to the bag.
Then hold the top of the bag tightly and shake it for 90 seconds. The baking soda removes all the dirt from your backpack, and if there is any foul smell, it is also gone after this process.
After washing the backpack plushie, if you think about how to get it dry, then I will tell you what you have to do next. There are mainly three kinds of drying performed: one is sun drying or air drying, and another is blow-drying.
Sun drying
Sun drying is the best way of drying your backpack plushie. You need to place your backpack in an open area where sunlight has come for a long time, like a rooftop or outside garden. You just need to flip your backpack often for quick drying. But remember, do not keep the backpack plushie under the sun for a long time, or it may damage the product.
Air drying
After washing the backpack plushie by any of the above processes, you can simply air dry it. It is the easiest way of drying it. To air-dry your backpack plushie, you just need to hang the stuff in a warm, open, and dry place.
Blow drying
The quickest way of drying your backpack plushie is by using a blower. But there is a problem with the blowing method, if the blower is too hot, it can damage the material of your plushie. But if you are in a hurry and want to dry your backpack as soon as possible, then only choose this method. Rather, I suggest the other two drying methods are best for you.
Conclusion
For kids, backpack plushies are something that is very close to them, and they want to carry such stuff everywhere. So cleaning the backpack is definitely work that needs to be done. But remember how often the washing needs to be done.
Because overwashing such items can seriously damage the product. You can spot-clean the backpack plushie every week, so you do not need to deep clean it often.
